Jewellery Cleaning

We understand that maintaining jewellery can be difficult and not always at the top of your priority list. Leading busy and dynamic lives means that your time is precious, just like your jewellery. That’s why we offer a cleaning service that will bring your treasured items back to life and allow you to enjoy them in their full, glistening glory.

We firmly believe that cleanliness is as important as the other 4 C’s (Cut, Carat, Colour and Clarity), in the jewellery world. As we also have the luxury of an on-site jewellery workshop you can rest easy knowing that the risk to your item(s) is greatly reduced by being safely secured in our premises and not being transported to a third party.

When should I have my jewellery cleaned?

We are regularly asked this question and the basic truth is there is no definitive answer. The best option is what works for you and doesn’t harm your items.

Some people choose to routinely clean their rings every couple of weeks at home, using everything from lukewarm water, vinegar, baking soda, gin and other life hack cleaning methods. Although there’s nothing wrong with the majority of these methods, we do recommend a professional clean every 6 months if it suits and definitely once every 12 months.

By having a regular professional clean like that, you greatly improve the appearance of your jewelry and it’s lifespan. This allows future generations to love your gemstones just as much as you do today. That is, of course, if you wish to have your jewellery become an adored family heirloom.

If you have any questions about the cleaning process or service charge, please don’t hesitate to contact us for a bespoke quote today, and speak to one of Nettletons dedicated staff who will be happy to advise you accordingly.
Whether you need your wedding ring cleaning or a whole matching set of matching set including a bracelet, necklace and earrings, Nettletons will gladly listen and help.

Please note: Harsh chemicals such as bleach, chlorine, acetone, etc, can have a detrimental effect on your jewellery. If in doubt, please don’t clean your jewellery at home. Instead get in touch with Nettletons and we can put your mind at ease by providing an experienced professional service. After all, it’s not worth risking your thousand pound engagement ring for one bottle of bleach from the supermarket.

Furthermore, Gems vary and have individual characteristics that influence how they are cleaned and the suitability of a cleaning process. As a specialist jeweler and trained Goldsmiths, Nettletons do their utmost to consider these factors, as so not to damage items.
