In 2008 when Danish adventurer and entrepreneur René Kaerskov jumped out of a helicopter into the ice cold of the Arctic Circle, directly over the North Pole, he had no idea at all that he was actually parachuting into a new era in his life.

It was at that moment in time, landing safe and sound at the most northerly tip of the globe, his heart was overwhelmed by the cool, simple infinite beauty of the white expanse of the eternal ice in front of him. Overcome by this experience, he captivated his business partners Lars Gram-Skjønnemann and Michael Witt Johansen with his tales of the beautiful splendour that was the Arctic landscape. Inspired by these iconic images, the two Danes started to design and develop a vision for a new watch brand - a watch brand which would be as breathtakingly exquisite as the Arctic landscape itself. The idea for Bering Watches was born.
